About the Dark Triad

The Dark Triad refers to three socially aversive personality traits: Narcissism (self-admiration), Machiavellianism (strategic manipulation), and Psychopathy (emotional callousness). Together they describe the "shadow side" of personality.

Everyone has these traits to some degree. The test scores you Low / Medium / High on each, mapping you to one of 15 archetypes — from "The Innocent" to "The Dark Triad Apex."

This is a self-reflection tool, not a diagnosis. High scores aren't inherently "bad" — they describe tendencies that, like all traits, can be channeled productively or harmfully.

Are high scores bad?
Not necessarily. Dark Triad traits have functional uses — calm under pressure, strategic thinking, decisiveness. The danger is in extreme expression or weaponisation.
Is this a clinical assessment?
No. This is a self-report personality measure for entertainment and self-reflection.
Can people change their Dark Triad scores?

How is this different from a psychopathy clinical test?
Clinical tests like the PCL-R are administered by professionals and measure severe psychopathology. This is a much lighter self-assessment.
